Study on the Stress Responses of the Driver in Residential Street Reviewed

In recent years, compared with a reduction rate of all deaths accidents, it is a gradual transition of death accidents in the residential street, it can be seen that the proportion of fatal accidents in the residential street is higher. Under these circumstances, the zone 30 and, are color paving, is progressing of the study of safety measures residential road, such as a hump, in standardization is progressing. However, it is not seen that speed regulations and safety measures in the residential street was studied whether to influence how the stress of the driver. In this study, to be driving in the residential street, to consider what effect the driver. As a method, performs a vehicle travel experiment, heart rate at the time of operation, the video, from the survey relating to the operation, studied stress at the time of operation in the residential street.

A Fundamental Study of the Current and Future Using Buses in Mountainous Villages Reviewed

Recent years, a various of local public transport are conducted in the nation. However, in the region, it is difficult to sustain them because there are few users of them. Therefore, it is important to consider how to keep users of local public transport for sustaining it. This study understood the current bus-use and the future intention to use one in mountainous villages, and clarified the factor and conscious structure for them. As a result, it is suggested that there are some bus-users who might stop using bus in the future. And then, it is also suggested that improvement in the assessment of riding and use affects both the current bus use and the future intention to use bus.

15. Development and application of traffic accident density estimation models using Kernel Density Estimation Reviewed

Traffic accident frequency has been decreasing in Japan in recent years. Nevertheless, many accidents still occur on residential roads. Area-wide traffic calming measures including Zone 30, which discourages traffic by setting a speed limit of 30 km/h in residential areas, have been implemented. However, no objective implementation method has been established. Development of a model for traffic accident density estimation explained by GIS data can enable the determination of dangerous areas objectively and easily, indicating where area-wide traffic calming can be implemented preferentially. This study examined the relations between traffic accidents and city characteristics, such as population, road factors, and spatial factors. A model was developed to estimate traffic accident density. Kernel density estimation (KDE) techniques were used to assess the relations efficiently. Besides, 16 models were developed by combining accident locations, accident types, and data types. By using them, the applicability of traffic accident density estimation models was examined. Results obtained using Spearman rank correlation show high coefficients between the predicted number and the actual number. The model can indicate the relative accident risk in cities. Results of this study can be used for objective determination of areas where area-wide traffic calming can be implemented preferentially, even if sufficient traffic accident data are not available.

In recent years, traffic accidents in residential road is the rate of decrease is gradual, percentage of all traffic accidents are increasing. Under these circumstances, there is a growing need to promote measures to improve the safety of pedestrians in the living space under the idea of "people first" in order to achieve a safe and secure society. Order to speed suppression of motor vehicles in the life road, visually prompt measures appropriate vehicle running such color paving of roads have been done in various road, and it is possible to suppress the overall speed pavement section is being apparent from the previous studies. However, it is not clear about what the effect is maximized by the how place any color to roadside or roadway life road. In this study, it is an object of the present invention to make it clear about the effect from the consciousness of local residents in the placement and color in the color paving of the road.

The activity of safety and security are attempted in Japan. They are focus on road safety, crime prevention and disaster prevention. About road safety and crime prevention, some activities are taken place in various regions. This lead traffic accident and crime decrease. But it is not necessary to coincide up-down of traffic accident and crime with the security and fear. For create the security life space, it is important to indicate the security and fear from subjective view and to grasp its trend. This study clarifies how local community and components in residential area are affect the security and fear for road safety and crime prevention in residential area, and consider what attempts are effective to grow the security for the region.

In recent years, increasing in the average life span is continuing in Japan, and this situation has led to prolongation of older age. So, it is important to the period to be able to spend happily in prolonged rest of one's life. For the well-being of the elderly people, enhancement in "essential activities" such as shopping and hospital visit and "leisure activities" such as sports and hobbies is thought to be important. Furthermore, the environment that is easy to movement for carry out various activities is thought to be also important. In this study, we measured subjective well-being of elderly by using a subjective well-being scale, and revealed how "essential activities" and "leisure activities" and "ease of movement" related to well-being of elderly people.

A Study on Anxiety of The Future Mobility in Mountainous Area Reviewed

In mountainous areas, issues such as taking off and reducing service of unprofitable routes of bus are becoming actualized, though efforts to public transport restricting is being carried out by each municipality, it is difficult to provide adequate bus service. Region that in spite can go to hospital and shopping about an hour round trip by using a car become a day-long in the case of using the bus is present. In this study, the bus users and non-users by, we subject to factor analysis to the anxiety of the future mobility, by using personal attributes and accessibility, bus service evaluation. As a result, both bus users and non-users, the difference of accessibility has significantly affect the anxiety of the future mobility, it is also in order to take the bus residents with peace of mind in the future, to reduce the anxiety of the future mobility is important has been shown.

Road space re-allocation measures for traffic safety have attracted attention recently. In Europe, measures including Shared Space have been implemented. Recent reports have described their effects on traffic safety. However, in Japan, few case examples of measures have been reported. Therefore, little is known about effects on residents' consciousness associated with these measures. We therefore made a vehicle speed survey and a questionnaire survey at Shinmon-dori Street, where a road space re-allocation for traffic calming had been implemented. This paper applies covariance structure analysis to analyzed causal relationship between divers, pedestrians and street, and clarifies these causal relationships on shared street.

Left turn channel with a focus on large scale multilane traffic intersections are found largely in Okayama. Structurally, crosswalk is installed in the left turn channel. Therefore, Counter Crossing Collisions have many occurs on the crosswalk has become an issue of traffic safety. And so, this study Cause of the accident in crosswalk on the left turn channel analyzed focus on relationship of sudden braking behavior of drivers and behavior of bicycle, bicycle speed, bicycle position. As a result of this study, We indicated quantitatively that breaking behavior of driver are influenced by the behavior of bicycle approaching to the crosswalk.

Road space reallocation measures for traffic safety have attracted attention recently. In Europe, measures including Shared Space have been implemented. Recent reports have described their effects on traffic safety. However, in Japan, few case examples of measures have been reported. Therefore, little is known about effects and problems associated with these measures. This paper clarifies the effects of road space reallocation on traffic safety based on resident attitudes, and verifies its effects through the investigation of changes in actual traffic conditions.
First, we administered a questionnaire survey at Shinmon-dori Street, where a social experiment for traffic calming had been implemented. Results show that the share of good evaluations of walkability increased. The share of evaluations of drivability was unchanged. Next, we examined the relation between the evaluations and effects of road space reallocation, and clarified that “It became easier for me to walk abreast”, “I became able to walk with a secure feeling”, and “I became able to drive at low speeds” are major effects of the measure. Finally, we conducted pedestrian and vehicle behavior surveys at the street to elucidate these major effects in actual traffic conditions. Results show that pedestrians are more likely to walk abreast and on sidewalks under social experimental conditions than under usual conditions. In addition, results show that drivers drive to the middle of the street. Therefore, pedestrians are able to walk on wider sidewalks with a more secure feeling. However, we were unable to confirm a change of vehicle speeds.

The number of relinquishment of the driver's license is growing each year, but it is difficult for them to go shopping or go to the hospital without a car. In this paper, we carried out a questionnaire survey for those who have driver's license and who relinquished the driver's license, in urban and mountainous areas of Okayama Prefecture. We look for the factor's of needs that how to go shopping or to consult doctors without driving. As a result, it has discovered that if they have trouble commuting because of residence inconvenient area or physical weakness, they tend to use life support service more. In order to support independent life of who relinquished the driver's license, it is important to expand the life support service especially in hilly and mountainous area, accompanying with the promotion of relinquishment of the driver's license.

左折導流路内での横断歩道上での出合い頭事故に繋がる，自動車と自転車のヒヤリ事象について分析を行い，左折導流路を通過する自動車運転者の視線が，カーブの内側に向けられる傾向にある為，外側への注意が散漫となっている事を，急ブレーキ発生割合を用いて定量的に示す事が出来た．また，自転車の進入方向の違いによって，急ブレーキを起こす確率が異なることが定量的に示された．

本研究では，通院・買物行動の時間帯と活動時間帯が同じである生活行動の制約に着目し，制約の有無別の特性を把握し，バスの総合満足度に影響を及ぼすサービス項目の違いについて明らかにした．その結果，生活行動の中でも昼食の準備・昼食の活動時間帯が通院・買物行動の時間帯と重なってくる傾向にあることが分かり，生活行動に時間制約が有る人は，65歳以上の高齢者が多いことや送迎を頼めば自動車を利用できる人が多いことが明らかとなった．
