石積み擁壁の安定性を不連続変形法(DDA)を用いて解析し,安定な構造となるためのメカニズムおよび盛土荷重に対する耐力や地震時での挙動を考察するためのデータを提供する.本研究は,特に空積み工法によって築かれた石積み擁壁を対象にし,従来の解析手法による安定性解析の困難さを示すと共に,当困難を克服するために開発された不連続変形法を紹介し,さらに当擁壁の各種地盤条件下ので安定性や地震時の挙動に関する解析結果を報告する.これにより,景観と環境に配慮し,人と地球の共生を図るための構造物としての石積み擁壁について考察する.

In these days, as a method of evaluating synthetically the expense and the cost of the construction, the maintenance, repair, and renewal of an engineering-works road structure. From which the concept of assets management (infrastructure valuation of assets and management) has come to attract attention, in order to cope with a subject called optimization of the maintenance, repair, and renewal of a road engineering-works from now on.<BR>In order to build such a system, the monitoring of the performance of a road structure and a functional level are required. The precision photogrammetry technique was used and it was shown that the efficient monitoring of a road structure is possible. Moreover, in the tunnel with traffic, the actual proof experiment was conducted and it checked actually functioning.

Rock mass failure and rock fall problems have been investigated for a long time, but the definite and acceptable solution is not given yet. This general report summarizes the recent researches and investigations (mainly in Japan) in relation to this topic. New technologies, measurement systems, observation, numerical methods and latest concepts for reduction of damage from rock failure are presented. The future works to be accomplished are carefully described.

The fundamental governing equation for the transient flow in homogeneous and isotropic poroelasticity has been used to obtain the permeability and storage coefficient of specimen under axi-symmetric triaxial stress state. Rigorous analytical solutions of Constant Head, Falling Head, Transient Pulse and Constant Flow Pump Tests are presented. They were also adopted to compare the distributions of hydraulic head and hydraulic gradient within the specimen among the four permeability tests. It was found that the time-dependent variations of hydraulic head and hydraulic gradient within specimen are rather complicated. Three dimensional storage coefficient (S') of homogeneous porous media is greater than the specific storage (S). Special attention should be paid when estimating the storage coefficients because different storage coefficients are defined by different boundary conditions based on the poroelasticity.
