当初計画の方針「災害時の地域歴史資料学研究を基礎とした地域歴史文化創成の基盤整備」に基づき、研究課題の整理や資料保全関連データの収集を行い、各研究領域による研究を進める他、2019年東日本台風における被災資料保全に関する実践的研究を進めた。
2019年6月から特命助教2名を任用して神戸大コアグループの研究体制を構築し、研究グループ全体の研究体制を整備した。8月には科研グループ最初の全体研究会を開催した。9月には第1回地域歴史資料学研究会を開催し、地域歴史資料継承をめぐる課題について整理した。2018年成立の改正文化財保護法を受け、2019年7～9月に兵庫県文化遺産防災研修会を行い、大学・自治体が連携した歴史資料防災の手法に関して研究を進めた。
2019年10月にブリュッセルで国際シンポジウムを行い、地域歴史資料保全活動の意義や、地域歴史資料データインフラ構築について研究代表者・分担者が報告した。文化財等保全のための国際的共同事業について討議し、新たな国際的研究プラットフォームの構築を準備した。
研究計画に従い2020年1・2月にはキックオフフォーラムおよび阪神・淡路大震災フィールドワークを開催した。阪神・淡路大震災以降培われた地域歴史資料学をめぐる研究状況を報告し、現地研究会ではフォーラムの成果を総括した。地域住民を核とする地域歴史資料継承の基盤となる地域歴史資料データインフラ「khirin C」については、システムを構築できた。
2019年10月には東日本台風が発災した。甚大な被害を受けた東日本各地において、水損資料保全活動にかかる地域住民や各地資料ネットとの連携に基づいた実践的研究を深化させた。
A班「地域歴史資料継承領域」、B班「地域歴史資料インフラ構築領域」、C班「災害文化を内包した地域社会形成史研究領域」の各領域では研究会を開催し、実践的・理論的研究を進めた。 -

In ancient times, the world was in a state of chronic famine, but with the exception of infectious diseases such as smallpox, famines caused by droughts and rainstorms, and the epidemics they triggered, were environmental resistances that limited the areas affected. In the early Heian period, population density, or population pressure, was high from the center to the west of the archipelago, but the theory of 1% annual growth throughout the Nara period was a theoretical value. In the Nara period, the average annual population growth rate was between 0.1% and 0.2%, and the total population in the early Heian period was thought to be between 500,000 and 550,000.

This research examined the formation principle of the Kuni, the Gun, and the Sato for ancient Kibi by using the Geographic Information System. About the ancient administration, regional presence is a problem. Therefore I calculated distribution directivity how Sato was distributed spatially.
In Bizen country, Northern six Gun are separated as Mimasaka in 713. After that, in the southeastern part of Bizen, the division and restructuring of the Gun was frequent. Akasaka at the beginning of the 8th century was organized around the Sanyo way on the land road and the Yoshii River as the axis at the waterway. Also in Oku, the coastal area was the whole area. Fujino was separated from Akasaka and Oku in 721, Fujino is expanded in 766, but it is divided in the east west of Yoshii River in 788. As a result, the area will be fixed, as Sakaue station in Wake, Kama station in Iwanashi district, Takatsuki station in Akasaka. It is clear that the essence of Gun was in keeping Sanyo way. -

We have advanced practical research on the disaster areas of the Great East Japan Earthquake and other devastated ones based on progress in Local Historical Materials Studies after the 1995 Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. Collaborating with a highly diversified community of historians and cultural studies researchers, including those in adjacent sciences, a new development was created in the practical methodology for materials preservation and the construction of a disaster prevention system for cultural assets.
Furthermore, from an international perspective, we examined the preservation and utilization of disaster materials, including digital archives both in Japan and overseas since the 2011 catastrophe, as well as practical methodologies for passing on disaster memories in a local community. Our domestic/international conference presentations have established the basis for international collaboration on Local Historical Materials Studies. -

Perpetual natural disasters and structural changes in the Japanese local communities place a vast number of historical materials existing in the communities at risk for loss or damage. This research was set to establish "local historical document studies".
The results are as the followings: 1) Construction of the systematic research method of the materials: we considered not only historical researchers but also locals are key players of the protection and application of the records. 2) Establishment of new concrete methods for preserving and repairing the materials: this is a crucial part of the systematic research method mentioned above. 3)Contribution to the preservation of local historical materials after the Great East Japan Earthquake:our research proposed principles and methods of the saving after the calamity. 4) International publication of the local historical document studies: this project presented the new studies to the world as a global issue. -

Three-dimensional data of archaeological sites and monuments such as burial mounds, a stone chamber and a stone coffin were obtained, proceeded and archived on the field of Tsukuriyama(Zozan) tomb, Okayama-city, the fourth largest mound in Japan, some tombs in the vicinity and another Tsukuriyama(Sakuzan) tomb, Soja-city. Surrounding moats and ramparts of Tsukuriyama(Zozan) tomb have been identified for the first time through our excavations of Tsukuriyama(Zozan) tomb. At Senzoku tomb, some severe damage of the carved ornaments of the stone chamber was exposed and since then rescue operations were conducted by the Educational Board of Okayama-city. Based on newly obtained digital data of burial mounds, we can promote the research of construction design of Keyhole-shaped burial mounds.

A study of Famine and Epidemic in the ancient Japan with Spatio-temporal Information Science

In the Japanese ancient times, famine occurred by all means in the summer of the old calendar. In this study, I estimated degree of the damage. In Oki no Kuni, it is estimated that population decreased around 50% from about 30% for Jogan eight years/nine years (866-867) by the epidemic. All these damage does not cover up the Japanese whole, but it must be it in fact for the community to be severely wounding. The ancient society was not an at all pastoral agrarian society, and it was high severe society of the fluidity.

Technical investigations for the reconstruction of historical landscapes with the aid of Geographic Information Systems

1. The development of land use and land administration system from the 9^<th> to 13^<th> centuries was intensively investigated. on two pictorial maps: Nukatadera garan narabini jorizu of the Nara prefecture and Bicyunokuni Kayogun Hattorigozu of the Okayama prefecture. The relationships of the maps and the recent landscapes were discussed in detail in the previous research of this topic.
2. The analyses of irrigation systems with the aid of Geographic Information Systems revealed that the development of agricultural water supply was dramatically changed between the two periods.
3. The results of archaeological excavations were examined in the relation of newly identified Jori system of the Hattori region. A recently excavated archaeological site of a manor house, Gosyo Site, was especially investigated.
4. Historical landscapes of the two regions were reconstructed using Geographic Information Systems. They were also compared with the landscape of the York region and the Medieval document of Domesday Book. of England.
5. For the purpose of reconstructing historical landscape, the data of published digital elevation model were tried to be used. However, the resolution of these data was so insufficient for such purposes that some programs of interpolation in a GRASS GIS were tried.
6. The report of the results of this research was published. It includes the manuals of developed programs of GISmap, DrawGrid and Shadeview. -
Archaeological Research of the centhalKibiregion with the aid of spatial information sciences

1. Accomplished the survey of a keyhole-shaped burial mound, Tsukuriyama Kofun, Okayama City. The mound is the fourth largest one in Japan. Two methods of survey were adopted: the traditional plain-table method for making contour maps and the digital survey using GPS and total stations.
2. The new method of the survey brought about unprecedentedly exact maps of the mound In the result we can easily distinguish original parts of the mound and modified ones. However we could not identify the presence of moat. For this reason future excavations are necessary.
3. The new method of surveying burial mounds using GPS and total stations were widely examined. The technical process of analyzing and visualizing the results using GIS were also examined and almost established.
4. Comprehensive data for the research using spatial information science such as aerial photographs, satellite photographs, old maps and excavation results were collected.
5. The three-dimensional laser survey of the stone coffin of Tsukuriyama Kofun was tried.
6. Radar detections and electric detections to identify the burial chamber and the moat were tried.
7. On the bases of newly depicted contour map the construction plan of Tsukuriyama Kofun was restored and the exact chronology within other burial mounds was discussed.
8. The report of the research was published: The Interim Report of the Survey of Tsukuriyama Kofun, Okayama City in 2008. -
地理情報システムを用いた歴史的地域景観復元のための技術的検討

(1)「備中国賀陽郡服部郷図」の現地比定を進め、二つの角度を異にする条里体系がひとつの整合的な条里の図に合成されたものであることを明らかにした。これによって、従来、現地比定に問題を残していた栢寺廃寺跡の位置も矛盾がなくなり、土豪「稲吉」の本拠地も現在の窪木集落であることがほぼ明らかになった。また、「服部郷図」の西寄りに空白の区画が存在することの意味についても、二つの条里体系を合成する際に生じた空白であることがわかった。
(2)上記の新しい成果が得られたため、結果を「『備中国賀陽郡服部郷図』の再検討」という報告書にまとめ刊行した。
(3)一部になお課題が残るものの、「服部郷図」の現地比定がほぼ終了し、本研究課題の目的である歴史的地域景観を復元するための、古代の定点となる「額田寺伽藍並条里図」と中世の定点となる「服部郷図」が揃ったことで、来年度の地理情報システムを用いた開発のプロセスや景観の復元を行うための基礎的データが整備されたことになる。
(4)条里を復元するために画像上に自由に方眼を描く機能を、昨年度に開発したDrawGridのプログラムに付加した。これにより、条里の検討がさらに容易になった。
(5)すでに開発しているGISmapのプログラムに、NASAが提供しているSRTMのDVD版に対応する機能や、国土地理院の5mメッシュDEMに対応する機能を付加した。
(6)地形等の三次元データを画像化し自由に影をつけて形を観察するプログラムを開発した。 -
GISを利用した古代地震の復原に関する基礎的研究

本年度は最終年度につき、当初の計画通り、地震動の復原を行った。
(1)天平六年に活動した地震を地震調査研究推進本部地震調査委員会の評価により生駒断層帯と考えた。松田(1975)の式(log(L)=0.6M-2.9)に活断層の長さ38kmを代入しマグニチュード7.46を得た。マグニチュード7.5の規模の地震であった。
(2)最大加速度と最大水平速度をもとめ、距離減衰と地盤増幅率を考慮して、1kmメッシュ単位に揺れを計算し計測震度に直した。計算結果は、シェープファイルにて出力してGISソフトに取り込み、関連資料の空間情報をあわせて表示し、解釈を試みた。
(3)天平6年地震の直前に聖武天皇は難波に行幸しており、竜田道を利用して平城宮に戻るが、その際、竹原井頓宮に宿泊している。竹原井頓宮はこの時期に一度廃絶し、更地に直されて作り直されていることから、地震による被害があった可能性が高い。高井田廃寺(鳥坂寺)にも地震の被害が出ていた可能性が考えられる。
(4)天平六年の聖武一切経は発願理由が特徴的で、奈良朝の写経が特定の個人の供養などを念頭に置いているのに対して、「全身延命・安民存業」を目的としており、特定の個人の供養を念頭においたものではなく、衆生を対象としたものであった。天平六年・七年と地震などの災異に対して、大般若経の転読や大赦を実施しているが、天平六年の一切経の発願も地震を前提としたものであった可能性が高い。
(5)研究の成果は、『朝日新聞』(2006年3月2日)にて紹介され、2006年3月4日に今津勝紀・隈元崇の連名で第22回条里制・古代都市研究会大会「天平六年の地震と聖武天皇」(於:奈良文化財研究所)にて発表した(『条里制・古代都市研究』に掲載予定)。 -
A Study on the Formation Process of the West Settsu Province as a National Port District

1.Deepening a state of rule of port (city) area over the West Settsu province from a historical standpoint of Nation State, we have generalized historical appearances of society formation in the whole region. We paid mainly attention to and analyzed comprehensive approach to the connections between the Inland sea traffic and the sovereignty/nation/Shogunate control in each period. As a result, in the West Settsu province since the ancient, we elucidate how the network around the national port district has been, taking note of how "Minato" functions had been developed on the ancient basis of Miyake/Tsu/Minato, on the Medieval basis of Fukuhara including the hinterland, and of how the Hyogo-Tsu turned to Kobe Port in connection with the adjacent farm villages or foreigner resident in modern times.
2.We compiled into a database the historical materials that was investigated around Hansin/Awaji great earthquake disaster areas and suggested a model case of efforts that we make to utilize the devastated historical materials. In addition, the inclusive discussion on how the great earthquake disaster should be recorded was held from a viewpoint of tallying, documenting the materials or inheriting the recollections.
3.We held the symposium on how the community should preserve the devastated historical materials, on the methodology of how we could reconstruct the historical pictures of the community through the preservation of the devastated historical materials that the researchers in charge of each part continuously did. On the basis of such works as the above, we had the omnibus disputation verifiably and logically about general properties of historical culture in the area concerned, and made the database with regard to the devastated historical materials. Only through those operations, we have united comprehensively the study on reconfiguration of historical pictures in a community with the study on the social heritage in the community concerned. -

First, in regard to the study in Mizubo (presently, Ounan), Tadashi KITAMURA was responsible for the investigation (survey) of village organization, religion, and folklore in the Ichiki district, Mitsuo TAKENAGA for photographing and organizing Umeji TANAKA's documents, Atsushi KAWAKUBO and Yasuhiro ITO for industrial materials, Katsunori IMAZU for restoration of ancient road, Junji KOBAYASHI and Satoru KISHIMOTO for modern documents, and Eisuke SAGARA for historical materials related to air-bellowed steel manufacture and charcoal manufacture.
Second, the survey and documents of Mizuho district and it environs taught us about : 1.village organization and religious customs ; 2.restoration of ancient roads ; 3.features, activities and thoughts of local leaders who urged promotion of the area and record keeping ; 4.historical characteristics of the agriculture and farm village structure; and 5. features and changes of local agriculture.
2.Research on Hino District, Shimane Prefecture
The organization and analysis of historical materials damaged by the earthquake that occurred in 2000 continuously progressed thanks to Kazunori ORYU, Ryoji YAMAFUJI, Junji KOBAYASHI and Satoru KISHIMOTO, with the help of local residents.
A survey was done on the connection between decreases in the local population and the extent of local industrialization, etc. Following the survey, with the help of local people, an organization was founded to preserve the damaged materials and promotion of the local industrialization was apparent.
3.Reporting of research results
As well as the reports, by each of the researchers, that were published in an academic journal, 11 articles, reports, records of material were also published. -
シミュレーションによる人口変動と集落形成過程の研究

1 日本の古代戸籍にもとづく人口変動シミュレーションのための数値的な裏付けがほぼ確定し、標準モデルを提示することができた。これは、古代の人口研究の定点となるものと思われる。
2 古代社会は、著しい多産多死型社会であることがいっそう明らかになった。
3 古代戸籍の検討から、高年齢の夫婦ほど年齢差が大きいという事実が明らかになり、これは再婚が頻繁に行われていたことによると推定された。死別と再婚の繰り返しが、古代社会の婚姻を不安定なものに見せていると考えられ、これは古代の婚姻に関する通説的な理解と異なるものである。
4 類人猿の「人口」ピラミッドと古代戸籍の人口ピラミッドとは、共通の富士山型を示しており、その差はそれほど著しく大きいものではないことが明らかになった。従って、旧石器時代から古墳時代の間の人口ピラミッドも、おのずから一定の範囲におさまるものとなり、そうした社会について一定の蓋然性をもって生死のパターンや平均寿命を論じることが可能となった。
5 他の集団や村落との間に婚姻関係を結ぶ外婚制などのシステムについて、それが個々の集団や村落における人口変動の調節機能を果たしていることを、シミュレーションから推定した。
6 縄文時代後期後半から弥生時代前期にかけての九州の遺跡データベースを作成した。これによって、弥生化に関する人口変動シミュレーションの実施が可能となり、渡来人の役割や遺伝情報の拡散について検討できるようになった。 -
パコソンの利用による画像解析を通じた荷札木簡作成過程の研究

本研究では、まず公表されている木簡の画像をスキャナによりデジタル処理を試みた(平城宮木簡、伊場遺跡出土木簡など)。この画像形式は、アドビ社のフォトショップ形式とした。また、以前に撮影しておいた奈良国立文化財研究所の公表写真をコダック社のフォトCD形式で入力し、アドビ社のフォトショップで解析処理をした。画像は、パーソナルコンピュータで処理できる最高解像度に設定し、色調補正・フィルター処理などを行った上で、エンボス・トレースなどの処理を加える事で、木簡の固有の字形を際立たせる事にある程度成功した。これらの画像は、デジタル化されているため、特定の文字のみを切り取り、他の木簡の画像と重ねあわせることにより、筆跡鑑定などに有効である事を確認した。ただし、より精密な画像を得るためには、巨大なファイナルサイズが必要となり、メインメモリ80MB程度の現状のパーソナルコンピュータでも処理能力が不足することが判明した。新たな画像形式の開発が必須であろう。以上の方法を用いて、本研究に関わる日本古代史上の問題について検討を加えた。その結果、賦役令調皆随近条の規定する「国郡里戸主姓名年月日」の記載は、国から年月日までを一度に記載せず、里名・戸主名のみ空けておき、荷札木簡を最終的に整える段階で、里(郷)名や戸主名を書き加える事例の存在することが確認できた。この知見は、たとえば、平城宮などから大量に出土した伊豆国からの堅魚の貢納を示す荷札にみられる郷単位での書風の相違が、必ずしも、その木簡が郷段階で作成されたことを反映するのではなく、郡段階で作成された場合にも生まれ得ることを示す。
