①《皆一緒》と《人それぞれ》の理論の哲学的検討 研究代表者は、本プロジェクトが医療における意思決定プロセスの望ましいあり方として提唱してきた《情報共有-合意モデル》も、社会が要請する人間関係の倫理に対応しており、日本国憲法に表された国民のいのちや健康を守る宣言の実質である国民間の相互扶助（皆一緒）と人権（人それぞれ）のバランスに相応しているとした。他の分担者は同モデルが共同意思決定（SDM）の一種であることから、内外におけるSDMの理論を多面的に検討し、そこから現代に相応しいあり方を探ろうとした。

② ポスト健康寿命期（＝老いによる人生の最終段階）にある高齢者のウェルビーイングの条件の明確化 研究代表者が提示する見解：ポスト健康寿命期を人生の最終段階と位置付け、「寿命は長ければ長いほど良い」から「長短を評価に使わず、本人が自分らしく、前向きに生きられることこそ重要である」への価値観のシフトを提唱するに際して、WHOも緩和ケアをプライマリー・ヘルスケア等と統合する方向で活かしていこうとしていること等を検討しつつ、緩和ケアの長さよりも質を大事にする考え方（ただしこれは《長さ》を全く否定するのではなく、《人生の充実を伴わない長さ》を否定するものである）を目下の文脈で活かしていく道を探った。

③研究成果の臨床現場への還元および社会に向けての提言による社会貢献 サイト「臨床倫理プロジェクト（臨床倫理ネットワーク日本内）」を整備し、これまでの研究成果に基づく9本の動画を作成してサイト内コンテンツに加え、臨床従事者が研究成果を理解して実践に活かせる環境作りを進めた。また、本研究課題を行う主たる研究機関である岩手保健医療大学に臨床倫理研究センターを発足させ、医療・ケア従事者や本研究に関心を持つ市民が参加できるオンライン懇話会を6回開催した。 -
日本社会の「老い」をめぐる分野横断的研究－「迷惑」と「ジリツ」の観点から

歴史班は個々に研究を進めるとともに、2021年度の中間シンポジウムの成果を『季刊日本思想史』の特集号として刊行する準備を行った（2023年度に刊行予定）。また、歴史班としての最終的な成果をまとめる論文集についての検討を開始した。現代日本研究班は2022年9月19日に中間シンポジウム「超高齢社会・現代日本の〈迷惑〉意識」を開催（オンライン）を実施した（報告者6名、うち1名はフィールド調査班のメンバー、参加者は約100名）。5名のメンバーのうち3名は中間シンポジウムの発表をもとに『統合科学』第3号（2022年3月）に特集を組んで論文を発表した。フィールド調査班は2023年2月（マレーシア）、3月（オランダ）に海外のフィールド調査を実施した。調査の内容は2023年度の全体研究会で報告する予定である。
全体としては、岡山大学文明動態学研究所主催のRIDCマンスリー研究セミナーにおいて、本研究に関する構想と現時点までの研究成果について発表を行った（2022年9月14日）。また最終的な成果を取りまとめる論文集刊行の準備として、研究会を4回実施した（2022年10月8日、11月20日、2023年1月29日、3月11日）。本論文集は、成果を統合する試みとして、異なる研究班のメンバーが2人～4人で1つの論文を作成する共著論文をもとに編集することを目指しているため、異なる方法・視点をもつ複数の研究者がいかに成果を統合していくかという分野を横断する研究成果をまとめるやり方について検討を重ねた。 -

The study considered the ‘best interests’ of the incompetent person and clarified the followings; (1) the various semantic contents of interests according to the status of retained abilities and functions, and the different contexts in which the components of ‘best interests’ in the theoretical framework of general surrogate decision-making standards are captured, (2) the extent to which the current preferences of the incompetent person can be given priority over the best interests based on objective judgments, (3) the factors which people involved in the care of people with dementia have considered and emphasized in medical care and other decision-making for people with dementia.

The main results of this research are the three points: 1) In modern Japan (in the late Meiji and Taisho periods), humanities research was positioned in the overall concept of “Gerontorogy”.2) From the past to the present, "40 years old" and "40s" are considered to be the beginning of "old age" from physical problems, from the past to the present, and it is important to reconsider the meaning of this age.3) In Japan, when thinking about "old age", there is a common sense that "Meiwaku wo kaketakunai".We consider this consciousness historically and comparatively culturally.
