「江戸時代出版法の布達範囲 ―熊本藩史料・岡山藩史料・加賀藩史料を通して―」は、これまでまったく注意を向けられたことがなかったと言っていい、江戸時代の藩域における幕府出版法の存否についておそらく初めて考察したものである。（これまで江戸以外の幕府出版法については、拙著『江戸時代三都出版法大概』（岡山大学文学部、平成22年2月）が、幕府直轄都市江戸・京都・大阪における幕府出版法の圧倒的多数の異なりとごく少数の共通について明らかにしたくらいである。）幕府法記録の見出された熊本・岡山・加賀各藩の記録内容を検討した結果、幕府は自らの出版法を各藩に送りはしなかっただろうということを結論づけている。「研究の目的」に記した「江戸時代日本の出版法制の歴史について三都（江戸・京都・大阪）以外の日本全国規模における把握の見通しを立て」たものである。
「町に触れられなかった『御触書天保集成』寛政二年五月出版改革「町触」――山東京伝・蔦屋重三郎処罰の前提状況――」(400字詰原稿用紙40枚強)は、日本近世文学会における学会発表「町に触れられなかった寛政二年五月出版規制法」（口頭発表25分)の内容を増補改訂したものである。これまで町触があったと思われてきた『御触書天保集成』寛政2年5月法令が法令案の書留で、実際には町触されていないことを考証したもの。次年寛政三年に処罰された、当時の代表的作家山東京伝の洒落本三部作は寛政二年に準備されたが、この時、寛政2年5月法令が禁じた手法を用いて記された三部作は、幕府への対決姿勢でもなければ、弛緩しきった当時の人心に幕府を恐れるところが少なかったわけでもないことを明らかにし、京伝の処罰は、寛政2年5月法案の処罰方針を実際の処罰によって伝えた性格のものであることを明らかにした。「研究の目的」に言うところの「禁書と法制の関わりに注目した実証的考察を進め」たものである。 -

Some ever unknown Osaka publishing ordinances were discovered by this research, and in some cases were convinced the existences of the same ordinance at Edo city. And no delivery of the publishing ordinances to feudal domains(藩) by the Shogunate was confirmed by the documents of Kaga domain and Okayama domain. Therefore the existence of the common publishing laws in Japan in Edo period were ever believed, but there is no publishing law, and is publishing ordinances in each cities.

This research proves as follows.
The Edo Shogunate(幕府) had two ways to issue its regulations to people.One is to put up a Kosatsu (高札:street bulletin board) on which bans and notifications from bakufu(幕府) were written.The other is for the Machiyakunins (municipal officials) to assemble people and notify the regulations issued by the town magistrate office and others, such as 'machibure(町触)' (laws for merchants and artisans).The publishing laws of the Edo Shogunate are issued as machibure. But the laws issued by Kosatsu is higher level than the laws by Machibure. In Edo period,The publishing laws are the subsidiary regulations of one book marchant reguration on Kosatsu,which covers the manuscripts.
Meanwhile, I started to describe the history of the publisher's association in Osaka in the Edo period which is based on the historical records at first. -

My research is concerned with how publication was regulated during the Edo-period. The first step I took was compilation of a list of publication laws enforced in the cities of Edo. Kyoto and Osaka from the following documents: Edo Machibure Shusei 江戸町触集成 (the Collection of Laws for Edo),Kyoto Machiburo Shusei 京都町触集成 (the Collection of Laws for Kyoto). and 'Ofure Oyobi Kutatsu 御触及び口達 (The Collection of Laws and Decrees) 'included in Osaka-Shi Shi 大阪市史 (the History of Osaka City) . My list is arranged in three columns each of which shows the laws instituted in each city in historical order. A glance at the list will immediately tell which law was in effect in which period and in which city or cities. It is traditionally believed tha〓 the same publication laws covered the three cities and that the basic principle of publication was established during the Kyoho-no-Kaikaku (the Great Reformation of the Kyoho Era). However, my study has found out that the local court of each city issued laws of its own from time to time up to the end of the Edo-period. What remains to be done in my research is a precise investigation into the distinction and mutuality between the three cities concerning the laws and business of publication.

金井文庫和装本の研究

前年度実績報告書において、姫路文学館所蔵金井文庫に含まれる和装本の冊数を約6,000冊と記した。また、同報告書において、同文庫目録の校正作業に着手した旨をも記したが、その後もひきっづき行いつつある校正作業において明らかとなった、上記旧蔵書に含まれる和装本の総点数の概数は約2,151点である(和装本の場合、1点3冊或いは5冊という場合もはなはだ多く、また、中には、1点60冊などというものもある)。
校正作業は、現在、いまだ初校段階の途中で、そのうちの約1,606点分を終えたところであるが、今後の作業の進展に伴って、上記の総点数は若干減少する可能性を含む。というのは、姫路文学館の現整理状態において欠本2点として処理されているもののうちに、それらを併せると完本になる(旧蔵印等の一致を根拠とする)ものが、ごくわずかながら含まれるからである。文庫目録原稿の作成過程においても、可能な限り、そのような欠本を併せ、完本として処理する作業を行ったのであるが、なにぶん膨大な蔵書でもあり、なおかつ、ツレとなる欠本同士が近くにあるとは限らないため、どうしても原稿作成中の整理作業からもれたものがいまだ残存しているのである。目録原稿における点数、約1,606点の初校を終えた現時点においても、その点数から2,3点の減少を確認済みである。
このように目録作成作業自体が神経を使う作業であるため、本年度においては、交付申請段階においてすでに重要資料であるとの見当を付けていた資料に関連する資料・研究文献(十返舎一九関係・出版書肆関係、等)の収集を主に行い、その資料的価値を見定めるべくつとめた。いずれも紹介に価する資料であると思われるが、その詳細については、目録に付載予定の「金井文庫解説」(仮題)において述べるつもりである。その目録は、姫路文学館から発行、次年度中の刊行を目途に作業を進めているところである。 -
八田家文書と「唐人殺し」の文芸に関する研究

1,八田家文書は、現在諸機関に分散所蔵されているが、書誌調査によって、その分散経路が判明した。その詳細については、『岡山大学文学部紀要』35において報告する予定であるが、概略のみをここに記せば、今日大阪商業大学商業史博物館・神戸市立博物館に分かれて所蔵されている八田家文書は、その蔵書印によると、双方共に佐古慶三氏の旧蔵資料である。その佐古氏が八田家文書を入手したのは、慶應義塾大学所蔵の幸田成友転写文書識語によれば、古く明治末年まで遡る。八田家文書の分散は、明治末年には始まっているわけである。一方、九州大学法学部・東京大学法学部・香川大学附属図書館神原文庫に所蔵されている八田家文書は、東京神田の巌松堂書店古書部が扱ったものである。いずれも昭和前期、第二次世界大戦前の事である。昭和期には一古書店を介して、分散している事は明らかであるから、もはやどれほどの数の文書が、図書館・個人に分散したかは計り知れない。また、仄聞するところによれば、大阪の八田家にはいまだ文書が残っている由である。今後は、大阪八田家の記録等によって、八田家文書の全体像が明らかになる事を期待するより他ないであろう。
2,「唐人殺し」の書留資料の性格に関しては、池内敏『「唐人殺し」の世界』においても充分に検討されていない事柄である。江戸時代当時の「伝聞」の書留が、いかに不充分な「事実」の伝達行為によって成り立っているかについて、「事実と巷談書留」(『説話論集』10)において報告する。当時の意識において、書留は「事実」の一斑を示すものにすぎなかったものと推測される。当時の民衆レベルにおいて、事件に対する「認識」などと呼べるほどのものは持ち得なかった、と把えるのが正しいであろう。 -
江戸時代,享保から明和における元号を冠する雑録の基礎的研究

時間と予算の制約により、享保から明和のうち、宝暦・明和を冠する時事雑録に対象を絞って、書誌・内容調査を行った。これまでに調査を終えた雑録は、京都大学付属図書館谷村文庫蔵『明和耳聞録』『明和太平記』『元享間雑記・享宝間雑記』、国立公文書館内閣文庫蔵『宝暦広説集』『宝暦安永御転書留』『明和聞書』、国立国会図書館蔵『宝暦聞書』『宝暦風俗集』『明和視聴録』『明和正宝録』『享保夢物語』、東京大学史料編纂所蔵『宝暦以後旧記』『宝暦鎮党録』『明和記』『明和天明年間公事録』『享保宝暦間聞書』、東京大学総合図書館蔵『宝暦書』の17書目である。調査を予定しながらも、調査し得なかったものに、宝暦の時事雑録のうち、大倉精神文化研究所蔵『宝暦記』『宝暦後記』・学習院大学蔵『宝暦事件』『宝暦事件ニ就イテ』・栗田文庫蔵『宝暦天明覚書』の5点、明和の時事雑録のうち、宮内庁書陵部蔵『明和記事』の1点、計6点がある。これらについては、可及的速やかに調査したいと思っている(平成9年春調査の予定)。
現段階において、すでに明らかであることは、これらの時事雑録のうち、同じ内容の本は一点もないことである。それぞれの雑録は、著録者・記録対象となる地域等を異にしており、未調査の書目についても同様の事が、かなり高い確率で予想される。調査済みの書目のうちで、既に活字翻刻がなされ、内容が広く知られているものの同系統本は、わずかに2点であった。国会図書館蔵『宝暦聞書』が、上方芸文叢刊『上方巷談集』所収「新編宝暦雑録」の系統の本であり、同館所蔵『明和視聴録』が、浪速叢書所収「明和雑記」の同系統の本である。この2点については、『岡山大学文学部紀要』第27号(平成9年夏発行予定)において、その詳細を報告する予定である。新出の大阪の時事雑録がなかったため、小説作品との比較については為し得ていない。
